About the program
An exploration based art class for children and families
Children are natural researchers. Through clay, paint, fabric, wood, and found objects, they ask questions, build theories, and express the “hundred languages” of their ideas. In our studio, materials are not just supplies — they are invitations. They invite children to wonder, to construct meaning, and to discover relationships between themselves, others, and the world.
Inspired by Reggio Emilia principles, our environment is thoughtfully prepared. Materials are presented with beauty and respect, signaling to children that their work and their ideas matter. Rather than copying a model, children are encouraged to investigate, invent, collaborate, and express their own thinking.
When children explore materials freely, they are doing much more than making art.
They are:
• developing problem-solving skills
• strengthening sensory awareness and coordination
• building confidence and independence
• practicing communication and collaboration
• nurturing imagination, joy, and perseverance
In this class, process is valued over perfection. Children are given time, space, and gentle guidance to experiment, make mistakes, revisit their ideas, and try again. In this way, creativity and confidence grow together — and each child’s unique voice is honored.
Instructor
The class is led by Nora, an experienced early childhood educator and practicing artist with over three years of work in child-centered, Reggio Emilia–inspired learning environments. Nora has supported young children as they explore materials, construct knowledge, and develop their own creative voices. Her work is guided by the belief that children are capable, competent thinkers who deserve environments that honor their curiosity and ideas. Drawing on both her artistic practice and her classroom experience, Nora thoughtfully designs experiences that invite experimentation, collaboration, and joyful discovery while supporting each child’s unique pace and perspective.
Class Policies & Terms of Enrollment
Tuition & Payment
Tuition is $200 per child per month, which includes four (4) classes at $50 per class.
Payment is due in advance of each month. Payment may be made via Venmo (@Nora-Jorgensen). If you prefer another payment method, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.
Monthly Commitment & Proration
Enrollment is a monthly commitment. If your child is unable to attend all four classes in a given month, you must notify us before the month begins to be eligible for prorated tuition. Proration is not available for missed classes without advance notice.
Absences & Illness
If your child is sick, we ask that they stay home to protect the health of the group. Unfortunately, make-up classes are not guaranteed and refunds are not provided for absences due to illness unless previously arranged under the proration policy above.
Cancellations & Refunds
All tuition payments are non-refundable once the month has begun. If you need to cancel your child’s enrollment for an upcoming month, please provide notice in advance. Tuition already paid for a future month may be refunded or credited if cancellation is received prior to the start of that month.
Class Minimums
Classes require a minimum number of enrolled students to run. If minimum enrollment is not met, you will be notified and offered the option of a refund or credit.
Weather & Emergencies
In the event of severe weather, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our control, classes may be canceled or rescheduled. If a class is canceled by the instructor, a make-up class or credit will be offered whenever possible.
Behavioral Expectations
These classes are rooted in respect, curiosity, and care for one another and the materials. If a child’s behavior consistently disrupts the group or compromises safety, the instructor reserves the right to end enrollment.
Communication
Ongoing communication helps everything run smoothly. Please reach out with any schedule changes, concerns, or questions—we’re here to support both children and families.
